Countertop Support Bracket
Front Mounting Plus

The perfect bracket for floating countertops, vanities, shelves, benches and more.

The Front Mounting Plus countertop support bracket for granite and other solid surface material is designed for use in high traffic or load applications such as commercial environments, granite countertops, vanities, shower benches or free floating desks. This is achieved by the addition of a low profile gusset that substantially increases the load rating on the bracket. For most applications the regular Front Mounting countertop support bracket is more than sufficient and the extra expense of a Front Mounting Plus may not be necessary.

These countertop support brackets are specifically designed for granite or other solid surface applications. The brackets can be mounted directly to a stud, masonry or used with a backing plate in either an existing installation or in a new installation. Built out of heavy duty 3/8" by 2.5" A-36 steel and professionally powder coated, the countertop brackets have a 35 degree bevel on both the horizontal and vertical flanges and four countersunk ¼" holes in the vertical plate to secure the bracket in place. Color matched #12 wood screws are provided with the brackets.

This Countertop support bracket comes in seven convenient sizes and six different beautiful powder coat colors for applications where the brackets will be visible. The Front Mounting Countertop Support Bracket can provide support for granite and solid surface countertop overhangs up to 24”. To size the bracket simply subtract 2"- 4" of the total overhang length. For example a 12" overhang would require an 8" - 10" support bracket. Please see the chart below for our recommendations.

Hiding the Front Mounting Plus Countertop Support Bracket

Like all of our products this countertop support bracket can be hidden from view creating an open, floating countertop effect. If you already have sheet-rock on your studs you will need to do the following.

  • Remove the sheet rock in the area of the stud where the bracket will be mounted.
  • These brackets require a wooden stud. If your installation is on metal studs you will need to install wood blocking.
  • Securely mount the bracket to the stud and ensure that the top of the bracket is level with the granite placement. If you find that your stud wall is not square be sure to shim the bracket. If needed, the shims should be placed between the bracket and stud, not on the horizontal support.
  • Once the support is fastened in place simply use a “Quick Patch” sheet-rock kit to cover the bracket.

When mounting in an exposed application be aware that placing the bracket directly on the sheet rock is a bad idea. Sheet rock is not designed to be weight-bearing and will crumble. When this happens the support capacity is greatly diminished, as the connection to the stud is no longer solid.
